Programmes Offered


(1)  Diploma in Foodservice Halal Practice - (DHF)
(2)  Diploma in Tourism Management - (DUP)

  • Full time Diploma Programme duration: 3 years*
  • Kursus Secara Sambilan Politeknik (KSS) / Polytechnic Part-Time Course in DHF programme (based on the number of request) - duration: 3 years or more* (class after office hour - on weekend or at night except for industrial training)*.

Teaching and Learning:

Lessons are classroom-based (face-to-face and online - CIDOS) with simulated activities, role plays, discussions, lectures and practical activities. Classes are conducted every week according to the fixed timetable. Students are also required to carry out practicals in computer laboratories, kitchen and in the industries in order to acquire necessary skills. Each programme has a different composition of subjects offered and has a combination of the following subjects; core, supporting, specialization, optional project and practical training. All based on the 'OBE' (Outcome Based Education) system.
Assessments may include written examinations, assignments, reports and practical assessment. Assessment for each subject is continuous through out the semester, normally through quizzes, assignments, project paper, presentation and/ or exams. The Continuous Assessment (C.A.) is 50%*, meanwhile for Final Examination (F.E.) is 50%* of the total grade. Assessment for industrial training will be carried out by the supervisor appointed by the department according to the specified format.


Practical / Industrial Training:

Industrial training at PMKu serves to expose students to real working environment to provide insights into the industry and to help them develop good values and characteristic for a successful career. Each student undergoes an extensive industrial training, spanning 20 weeks (5 months)* at some of the most established hospitality and tourism organisations in Malaysia and overseas.


Professional Certification Course:

DHF Programme and HEP Professional Certification Course:
Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) has agreed to give equivalents to the DHF programme graduate with exempt from 6-month follow Halal Executive Programme (HEP) courses organized by HDC (subject to the conditions set).

DUP Programme and Recreational Professional Certification Course:
This diploma programme provides various courses that enable students to obtain professional certificates from various organisations that advocate them. Among them are (i) Level 1 Coaching Course for Basic Outdoor Recreational* and (ii) Star 1 Kayak Certification*. However, the availability of this certificate is based on the situation and existence of the certificate programme at that time.
